How to clean the outside of glass windows?

The best way to clean exterior windows is with a squeegee and an extended mop

The best way to clean exterior glass windows is to use a squeegee and an extension mop. A squeegee is used to remove excess water from the surface of the window while an extension mop is used to sweep up all the debris on the outside of the window. This method works well if there is no wind blowing at the time. However, if there is wind blowing at the time, then you may have to use a different method.

Start at the top and work your way down

Start at the top of the window and work your way down. Use a squeegee to remove any excess water from the surface. Then use an extension mop to sweep up any debris. Continue working your way down until you reach the bottom of the window

Use a sponge or microfiber towel or cloth to remove any water left behind by the squeegee

Use a sponge or microfibre cloth to wipe off any water left behind by using the squeegee. Make sure not to leave any water in the crevices between the window frame and the sash. This could cause mould to grow inside the window

For a streak-free finish, use a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe the window dry

To avoid a soapy residue and for a streak-free finish you will need to use a clean, lite-free cloth to wipe off any remaining water. Be careful not to get any water into the crevices between window frame and sash.

Don't forget to clean the frames and window screens!

If you don't clean the frames and screens, they will become dirty over time. This will affect how much light gets through the window. It is recommended that you clean the frames and screens every month.
